Professional Societies and Service

Academy of Arts and Sciences:

Prof. Dekker was inaugurated as a member of the Netherlands Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences (September, 2015).

TU Delft Council of Professors:

Prof. Dekker has been a member of the Council of Professors of the TU Delft. This Council advises the board of the university concerning professorial appointments and other matters. A more complete description (in Dutch) can be found here.

FOM Executive Board:

Prof. Dekker has also served as Vice-Chair of the Executive Board of the Foundation for Research on Matter (FOM). Until the start of 2017, FOM, was the principal funder of physics research in The Netherlands. Since then, the foundation has become part of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

Department of Bionanoscience:

bionanoscience Prof. Dekker is a co-founder of the Department of Bionanoscience, together with her colleague Prof. Cees Dekker (no relation). The Department of Bionanoscience has been strongly supported by the Faculty of Applied Sciences of TU Delft and by the Board of TU Delft. The current Chair of the Department is Prof. Marileen Dogterom.
