We’ve examined in magnetic tweezers experiments the relationships between pausing, backtracking, and states of the bacterial polymerase, as well signatures deriving from heterogeneity between polymerases. Congratulations to our former lab member Richard Janissen, as well as to our collaborators Behrouz Eslami Mossallam, Irina Artsimovitch, and Martin Depken, on the completion of this work!
